Anne's in Love: With Baltimore: Camden Yards Part 2

Get your ass to Camden Yards in Baltimore to see a game, will ya?

Anne's in Love: With Baltimore: Camden Yards Part I

True: Unless the Orioles are playing the Red Sox or the Yankees, you can most likely walk up to the ticket booth (just like in old timey times) and pay cash for good seats ON THE SPOT. Weird. I think our tickets were $13 a piece.

This guy was all about his nuts. I seem to remember him incredulous that I took his picture.

Catching two random dudes sharing a high-five. Is that a David Wright jersey?

The Orioles might not be the best in the league, but Camden Yards rocks. Butterflies.

Anne's in Love: With Baltimore: Part III

Mr. Edgar Allan Poe is buried in the Westminster graveyard in what was once on the very outskirts of town. The church (one of several in the city which have closed) is now an arts center.

Two raven-haired beauties and one out-of-his-misery E. A. Poe.

Visit the gravesite of the genius named Poe sometime yourselves, and put a penny on his tomb or whatever else the suspicious do. (I didn't. From what I know of Poe, he'd be highly insulted and try to wiggle his way out of the ground to shake it off and shout a bitter remark your way.)

Next up? Part IIII: Camden Yards!

Anne's in Love: With Baltimore Part I

Out the window of the Amtrak Northeast Corridor train from NYC to Baltimore 5/5/07
The train is a wonderful way to travel. There's no bagging up your liquids and having to get to the station 2 hours early. You get to see the oldest parts of the cities and towns you're passing by and through. Unlike the car or the bus, where you're on a monotonous highway with the occasional Home Depot or Hampton Inn to stimulate the retinas. For me, the train means door to door service. I walked into the Penn Station NYC and exited at Penn Station Baltimore. Excellent.

Anne's in Love: With Baltimore

Anne leaving Camden Yards (wearing an Orioles shirt and Red Sox hat) after the Orioles beat the Cleveland Indians, Cinco de Mayo, 2007
I spent just over 24 hours in Baltimore, Maryland, and I'm beyond smitten. I'll take you on a virtual tour of my trip over the next few days in a series of posts called, Anne's in Love: With Baltimore. You're gonna love it too, dammit!
