Here's a classic recipe I found on twisted-candy.com, which is a nice site full of recipes scribbled on index cards and stored tin boxes just like Grama used to have.
Sour Cream Coffee Cake
Mrs. Ruth Garrison.
1 stick margarine
2 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 pint sour cream
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 cups flour
Cream margarine and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time - Sift soda, baking powder and flour together - Add alternately with sour cream to mixture. Beat well. Add vanilla.
Topping - Mix 1/2 cup sugar, 1 tsp. cinnamon - 1 tsp. nutmeg, 1/2 cup chopped nuts. Sprinkle 1/3 of topping into greased angel cake pan. Pour in 1/2 of batter. Sprinkle 1/3 more topping on batter. Pour remainder of batter. Sprinkle rest of topping on top.
Bake at 375 degrees 45 to 60 minutes.

My mom makes this, only we call it Aunt Leona's Sour Cream Coffee Cake. It's a fuckin' taste sensation that may or may not be sweeping the nation!
