Look Out the Window: Hollywood is Here

Lexington Avenue, NYC
7/24/08
Filmed a movie last night on my roof and the roof next door. I'm hoping its a romantic comedy starring a buried treasure hunting, shirtless Matthew McConaughey and your mother.

Here where I am (Long Beach, CA) we're the 2nd film capital of the world (after Canada, I think)

"CSI Miami" shoots all over and they film "Dexter" all around the city. They filmed the old classic movie "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World" all over Long Beach back in the early 60s

Twice during the Spring two separate cellphone companies filmed actual commercials right in front of our house (20 feet away)

Basically, the city TELLS residents about two days before filming that 200 cool and pompous film crew members will be milling around the neighborhood with cables, lights, cameras and the inevitable ugly catering trucks...oh, plus armed hired security.

I've developed a fierce hatred towards film crews in general. We (as a species) could certainly do without any more films or TV shows being made.

I think we could all survive on old episodes of
"I Love Lucy" and "Friends" and "Good Times"

Your site is quite spiffy lately!
