Old New York: In Color!

NYC, circa late1940's-50's

Somewhere downtownish, can't make it out, as I'm quite sure this building does not exist anymore. I love the two colors on the stop light. Red is for stop. Green is for go. That's all you need to know, because yellow is for losers.

That is the Lindorff Liedenhosen Factory. It was torn down after it was discovered that no liedenhosen was actually produced there, but instead was a slaughterhouse for unwanted immigrant children and pets who were grinded down as food for pets and children.

The name on the sign on the corner building is "J. & J.W. Elsworth Company". Google has only one very obscure reference so you might check local resources, if you are really interested. Google doesn't know everything.

Lovely picture: it does not feel at all like New York, nor that ancient (there are places like that just around the corner from where I live, complete with pedestrians in tint).
