as a kid in the 70's, we were: fake, normal sized, star, tinsel (the garland type, not loose strands), colored lights, everything decorations, wheneverz, wheneverz.
as a growned-up married lady with 3 dogs and no kids, we are: 2 fake pink trees (one made of feathers), normal sized, skeleton on top, white lights on one, colored on the other, decorations from around the house (like a miniture chain saw covered in blood), up and down when the mood strikes us.
we also have an antique wheelchair with a creepy doll in it that we sometimes string with colored lights.

Ours was the same as yours, except we took ours down at Easter.
The bulk of our ornaments were kid-made class project ones. I'd purposely find the ugliest ones that featured a pic of me and hang them prominently in front. In fact, I still rearrange them when I'm at my mom's. You see, I'm very funny.

very nice! i'm enjoying learning about everyone's xmas tree. my sister wants me to add the xmas tree skirt option----
ours wasn't an official xmas tree skirt but more of a traditional white sheet.
for the pine needle collection and snow drift effect, of course.
