True: Unless the Orioles are playing the Red Sox or the Yankees, you can most likely walk up to the ticket booth (just like in old timey times) and pay cash for good seats ON THE SPOT. Weird. I think our tickets were $13 a piece.

Mr. Edgar Allan Poe is buried in the Westminster graveyard in what was once on the very outskirts of town. The church (one of several in the city which have closed) is now an arts center.

Visit the gravesite of the genius named Poe sometime yourselves, and put a penny on his tomb or whatever else the suspicious do. (I didn't. From what I know of Poe, he'd be highly insulted and try to wiggle his way out of the ground to shake it off and shout a bitter remark your way.)

Out the window of the Amtrak Northeast Corridor train from NYC to Baltimore 5/5/07

The train is a wonderful way to travel. There's no bagging up your liquids and having to get to the station 2 hours early. You get to see the oldest parts of the cities and towns you're passing by and through. Unlike the car or the bus, where you're on a monotonous highway with the occasional Home Depot or Hampton Inn to stimulate the retinas. For me, the train means door to door service. I walked into the Penn Station NYC and exited at Penn Station Baltimore. Excellent.
