Bearing gifts we traverse afar,
Field and fountain, moor and mountain,
Oh star of wonder, star of light
Refrain:
O star of wonder, star of night,
star with royal beauty bright;
westward leading, still proceeding,
guide us back there because it's fuckin' hot here!

Do I love honesty? Yes!

Women? Love romance? Please! That is fuckin' absurd.
Shit, and we were getting along so well. We had so much in common until the romance thing but...

Will the Real Anne Altman Please Stand Up
All you other Anne Altmans are just imitating
So won't the real Anne Altman please stand up,
please stand up, please stand up?
My publicist told me today that I finally booted the faux Anne Altman, the fake lady, the imitator, off the #1 Google spot. Now she can "Take the Reins" as #2 for awhile. Cause I'm #1 (foam finger? wavin' it) and did it all without 27 years at IBM, people.
You know what this means?
Leftover pad thai for dinner, bitches, leftover pad thai for dinner!
Anne Is All-Around Smart
All-Around Smart You are all-around smart. Essentially, that means that you are a good combination of your own knowledge and experience, along with having learned through instruction - and you are equally as good with theoretical things as you are with real-world, applied things. Hang on to your hats, people, I look HOT!
Alright, maybe "hot" is an exaggeration, but I like the way I look in these, so bite me.
Ready?
Set?
OK!
Here are two of my favorites.

Exchange Student At Work
We've had a lovely woman from Japan working in our office the past few weeks on some sort of "exchange program" with her office or whatnot. Anyway, we're immersing her in American culture. I just gave her a mini Reese's peanut butter cup, the first in her life. And then another.
She licked the friggin' wrappers! She can pretty much go back to Japan now.
A Great Show I Got Off My Ass To See
You know why, because it was great, ok? Don't be an a-hole. Broads in your face straddling the Fence of Offensiveness. Featuring pants pissing goddesses like Brandy and the following which I had never seen before and fell hard for:
Free To Be Friends.
Reminded me of the olden days, with Jean and the Hodge Podge Lodge. Thanks for the memories, gals. And thanks even more for twisting them into something sick and interesting enough to hold my adult attention span.
I Look Cute Today
Or any words.
But, no matter! This is what I choose to believe! And when one is having a "Cute Day" one must toot their own horn.
TOOT
Whatever.
Kid Confusion Resolved #1

When my sister and I were kids, my folks took us to Disney World every couple of years.
Head Scratcher: We could never understand why they wouldn't let us spend too much time in the Magic Kingdom before we were whisked away to Epcot Center.
Reason: The Magic Kingdom is a dry kingdom.
Please, they could take only so much Goofy and Tea Cups before they needed to get their drink on in China or Germany.
When I Was a Freshman In High School
Castle Grayskull

Dad: What do we have here?
Kid #1: It's Castle Grayskull! And it's mine!
Kid #2: Not so fast, Beastman!
Kid#1: He-man!
Announcer: You can pit He-man against Beastman playing for the power of Castle Grayskull. You have to put the castle together.
Dad: Beastman's escaping!
Kid#1: The throne, Dad! (Dad flicks a the throne switch to eject Beastman) Dad, you saved the castle!
Announcer: Castle Grayskull, from the Masters Of the Universe Collection. He-man and Beastman each sold seperately. From Mattel.
-------------
I love how they throw "you have to put the castle together" right in the middle of the commercial so quickly--while you're still absorbed with the drama of the impending fight over the "power of the castle" between He-man and Beastman-- so you don't even realize it.
Until, that is, you get your Castle Grayskull for Christmas and it's a box of 1,000 gray pieces with no action figures because they are sold seperately. And unfortunately, the Dad is sold seperately too, so you're putting that shit together by yourself.
Watch this commercial and dozens of other classics here.

Japanese Cat Song
You won't understand the lyrics of the song unless you are fluent in Japanese like I am, but it's entertaining nonetheless.
Boy, though, if you knew Japanese, it'd be like 200 times better, so, maybe take this opportunity to learn yourselves something and stop being so ignorant all the time. Hmm?
Ok, great.

Hey there!
Finally got around to getting my collection of cassette tapes organized. It's about time! Now don't get too excited, but there appears to be a duplicate, so I'd like to take this opportunity to make a small announcement:
To the Person Who Left Their Steve Miller Band Hits 1974-1978 cassette in my car in 1985:
I found it.
Yay! So, please, feel free to pick it up.
Actually, you can't pick it up*. I do believe it fell victim to my "Throw Nine Things Away a Day" Project.

Don Rickles and Paul Anka at the PNC Bank Arts Center on August 10. Clearly I don't plan ahead, but I'd see Don Rickles.
I read a great book on comics where he was discussing how he handles hecklers. One woman in the audience was giving him a really hard time one night and he shouted to her, "Hey, lady! How much do you charge to haunt a house?"
She replied, "How many rooms?"
Hilarious.
CSNY
I saw the CSNY poster posted on a Post No Bills scaffolding last night on my way home from work and got all excited for nothing. But I did immediately start humming "Our House" which is one of my favorite songs.
IT IS NOT GAY SHUT UP!

Sometimes You Want To Pat Yourself On the Back
You want to hear it?
Ok, great!
So, there was a point last year when I was scheduling online dates at least once a week, going through men like old socks. It was exhausting. And surprising, considering that one of the very first online dates I ever went on was so horrible, I swore I'd never do it again. This guy was sooooooooooooo soooooooooooo sooooooooo soooooo cheap, it was (and still is) completely unfathomable to me.
He suggested we meet for lunch. He wasn't a good looking guy, but he was smart, and sometimes smart can go far in erasing someone's face. To a degree. Turns out he was more of an aging hipster, wearing a leather bracelet and other accoutrement that you'd better be super hot or super rich or super whatever to be able to pull off and he wasn't pullin' it off. He was wicked bald, perhaps the jewelry was a distraction technique? He also was wearing one of those gas station shirts with some other dude's name on the patch. Oscar?
Anyway, we had a late lunch in a pub, and unfortunately, we had the place to ourselves. I suggested we sit at the bar, but he wanted to sit in a booth. EVEN THOUGH THE LADY WANTED TO SIT AT THE BAR, BUT IT'S YOUR DATE, Oscar, I said. So we're sitting in this creepy booth in the way back of an empty restaurant and there was no escape from his piercing eyeballs and neverending stories. He complained there weren't enough lemons in his coke, then complained that he didn't think it tasted like regular coke but diet coke so she brought him a new one, and so on and so on. I had a bloody mary. A strong one. And chicken salad on toast, I recall. He wiped his face on his hands and ate with his mouth open and the whole thing was bumming me right out the door.
Hours later, the check came, thankfully. But it just sat there.
And sat there.
And sat there.
And everytime I'd grab my purse or look towards the door as in "Can we get the fuck out of here now?" he'd see my agitation yet launch into another story, "When I was nine I went on a field trip with the class to Washington D.C. and it was so funny because then another time..."
Finally I got out my wallet and said, "How are we going to handle this?" Which is chick code for "Pay the check." There are several answers to "How are we going to handle this?"
Some include:
- I've got it.
- Put your money away, this is on me.
- No, I insist. You can get the next one.
He replied with one of the only WRONG answers:
"Well, I guess we both throw a twenty in and split the change."
MY GOOD GOD!
I'm not even worth chicken salad on toast? Jesus, I had really checked out of the date at this point. Sour look on the face and everything. We wait for change.
And we wait.
And we wait.
The waitress finally returns but instead of bringing us two fives, she brought a ten. The look on his face was priceless panic. There was poo in his pants he was shitting them so hard. He actually looked for the waitress again, to get more change, but at this point, she was back up at the bar doing a crossword puzzle. I grabbed my bag. My freedom was worth $5.
Suddenly, he grabs the ten dollar bill. He tells me to hold the other end of it over the table while he holds the other end. So if you can picture this correctly, we each have an end of it, as if it were a wishbone or whatever.
He says, "Ok, close your eyes."
"What?"
"Close your eyes."
Of course, I only close one, because I'm quite sure he's about to abscond with the ten.
"Ok, now make a wish," he says.
Then he starts tugging on the bill.
I open my eyes.
"What the hell are you doing?" I ask.
"Oh, I don't know. Listen, um..." and he looks at the bill, he looks at me, he looks at the bill, he looks at me, he looks at the bill. Then at me.
"Go on, you, um...you ....um...you can have it. Take it."
AS IF HE WAS GIVING ME TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS.
As if he was giving me ten dollars, actually, but HE WAS ONLY GIVING ME FIVE DOLLARS!
Cheap bastard.
"Thanks. Thanks so much," I said.
Finally, we left. On the corner, I almost said, "Thank you for lunch," when I realized I bought my own fucking lunch. So I said, "They make a good chicken salad over there, don't they?"
Then he said, "So, where do you prefer to receive calls, at home or on your cell?" and I'm thinking, it doesnt much matter, cheap-ass, because I'm screeing your call no matter what.
Then I ran home to email him "Thanks but no thanks." And my email must have crossed his in the mail which said that he thought the date was great and would love to see me again.
Ah, well.
Fast forward 6 more dates. I swore I'd never go on another, but I had gotten back on the awkward horse with a better attitude, and this time I was just meeting men for one drink. If no spark, then Basta! One night I agreed to meet this one guy, let's call him Bill. Bill was an actor, so he was a little hyper, but we understood each other for the most part it seemed. Until we met. Then I didn't understand him so much anymore.
It didn't help that I had gone to happy hour for a few cocktails before the date.
It also didn't help that he didn't drink. What?
He showed up wearing a yellow Lance Armstrong bracelet, and Lord have mercy on the man who makes that mistake. I was all over him like a bum on a baloney sandwich about it: "So, tell me about your bracelet?" And he was like, "Oh, come on, a friend of mine had cancer and then he beat it so..."
"So, now you wear it so you can remind yourself about it? Or better yet, make awkward conversation-stopping conversation about it on a blind date?"
I guess I was a little tipsy. And obnoxious, sure. But I didn't care.
Then I asked, "How's your Coke?" like a dick. Because I was on my second beer, and not that I advocate alcoholism, I simply don't understand complete sobriety. It makes me fuckin' nervous. So he went into some explanation saying that he either was in recovery or wasn't, I guess I wasn't listening. Recovery is understandable. Mormonism is not. But either way, the guy was sober.
"I don't know, I guess I just am high on life,"he said.
GOOD GRIEF DID HE REALLY SAY THAT?
A GUY WITH A RUBBER BRACELET WHO DOESN'T DRINK SAYS TO ME THAT HE'S HIGH ON LIFE?
Then I went in for the kill.
"Well, at least you're not cheap," I said. You wouldn't believe the nightmarish date I had recently..." And I told him the story about Cheap Guy.
He said, "Sounds bad."
I replied, "It was."
Then he goes, "Well, I can top that. I went on a date recently with a woman for 2 hours before I realized she was a racist."
[get ready, here's my joke comin' up, the one that you've been waiting for that inspired the post]
And I said, "Really. Interesting. Did I mention that the cheap guy was a Jew?"
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
HAHAHAHAHAH
OH ANNE, STOP IT! LLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
And I actually patted myself on the back right then and there.
I don't think he laughed.
And I don't care. I didn't care then, I don't care now.
It is hands down,
one of the funniest things,
I've ever said in my life. And I couldn't have done it without Bill, though. After all, he did set me up the play. And I made the slam dunk.
Moral of this story: If you don't want a second date, act like a racist. Oh, and I think I'm really funny.
The End.
HAHAHAHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Oh, man. It's still good. And it's got legs. Excellent.
*Sigh*

My Good Deed This Morning

This morning on my walk to work, I saved a pretty moth from Squashtown. It was sitting on the subway grating, large and brown with a wild pattern and in the full-on danger zone of being stepped on by a clodhopper or two. When I brushed it with the side of my flip flop, it fluttered open and had a gorgeous orange and red color on the inside of the wingspan, but it must have been injured because it didn't fly away. The second time I tried to move him, he caught a ride on the side of my foot and I placed him on the base of the orange cone that was sitting there. Safe.
Then I pushed an old lady in front of the westbound 42nd Street bus.
Always an Ugly Bridesmaid Dress, Never Not an Ugly One

Dilemma:
Let's say a tall and skinny bride-to-be who lives way across the country just asked you to be a bridesmaid in her wedding because another bridesmaid backed out for financial reasons and also because "I look like shit in the dress."
Then the fellow bridesmaids and bride gang up on her by saying, "This day isn't about you, you're not supposed to look great, stop being so selfish, it's all about the bride" and whatnot.
Let's also say, giving the bridesmaid backer outer the benefit of the doubter, that the bridesmaid dresses were chosen by the tall and skinny bride-to-be without much thought into the cornucopia of bridesmaid shapes and sizes.
Yet when you go to to David's Bridal to try on the dress, you can't fit your fat ass into it either, and not because it's fat but because the dress is really unflattering, so much so that you burst into tears in the dressing room and the lady at the store feels bad for you too. Then in her next breath she tells you that each alteration is going to cost $20, and you'll need at least 5. Altered or not, you still wouldn't be caught alive in it. (worse than being caught dead in it)
What do you do?
**incidentally, while researching images of fine frocks for this post, I stumbled upon Etiquette Hell. Terrible dresses abound and compete for the incinerator.**

My friend was leaving my apartment last night when a homeless fellow asked her for some change. She turned him down with a polite "Sorry..." when he replied,
"That's ok, honey, you still look good for your age."

Moral of this story: Give every homeless guy change or he'll make you feel like shit about yourself the entire subway ride to Astoria and possibly beyond.

Hey pal, if you're gonna do it, be nice about it. Don't take people with you. Jump off the Empire State Building in a pirate costume. That's how all the cool kids roll. Roll out, rather. Or off.
LOL Rules
As in, somebody heard you laughing and just had to ask, "What's so funny?"
I feel it's really being abused and thrown about willy nilly. WILLY NILLY! It should not be used to temper an awkward statement or question like, "Your boobs are huge! Are they real? LOL" or "Give me that money you owe me or I'll burn your house down! LOL!" Because you're seriously curious about that broad's cans and their content. And you're quite serious about getting your money or you're gonna burn down a house. So, you know, say what you mean.
To review, if you laughed audibly, then you may type LOL. If you did not, then you may not. Dig? If you laughed on the inside, smirked, shook your head, made a "pppffft!" noise, none of that is LOL. All different acronyms.
Let's put the R-E-S-P-E-C-T back into LOL, shall we? Thanks.

Davy Jones Doesn't Want to Monkee Around No Mo'

"I would not work with those guys if my life depended on it," says Davy. Great. It's always the hot one that says no to the reunion it seems.
What'd you expect, Davy? They're monkees! Take it ease'!
I used to watch The Monkees when I was a kid. For those who don't know, the Monkees were a band, a pre-fabricated band, the seventies version of O-Town. Their t.v. show consisted of craaaaazy hijinx with a few songs thrown in there. I wasn't a huge fan of the show, but my best friend was, and it was her house and all. I think the Monkees preceded the Six Million Dollar Man or Bionic Woman or some shit, stuff we both could agree on.

Ladies and Gents: Please welcome, Reverend Alecia.
When you recover from being doubled over, please tell me if you think that's a Hoveround?
I Feel To Compelled To Reveal My Crush
I don't know why I was attracted to him though. Perhaps it was his uniform, his hot fuckin' pilot uniform. Or perhaps it was his quick wit, and wonderful relationship with his wife that I found attractive. Me thinks it was a combination, one that took me by my surprise, as Jason Bateman was more age appropriate and logical and all. Plus, blondes never really have caught my fancy. But I really think the crush is more on Michael Hogan and not Josh Taylor, because years later I'd catch Josh Taylor on Days of Our Lives when his hair started to recede and the cracks in his face began to show and I got grossed out. Josh Taylor has not aged as well as Michael Hogan.
Have I Told You Lately How Much I Love Judas Priest?
In spite of (or maybe even because of) this strange and gay video. Workin' out together*, pourin' water on the sauna rocks, takin' a shower, drivin' around, playin' on stage, feet catch on fire, that fire in turn lights up the microphone and then the two guitars!
I dare you not to tap your flaming feet to this one. I know I did!

Judas Priest fuckin' rocks. Rob Halford fuckin' rocks.

The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency
There's only one reason to watch this show:
To note the Vaseline differential.
The amount of grease she must have insisted that they put on the lens --for a gauzy look--
(see example of random gauzy lens below)

--to distract you from the fact that she is 75 friggin' years old--is absurd!!!! I'll say it's distracting, but it's not fooling the eye into believing anything. Ridiculous.
They must use 50 cameras and 50 pounds of grease. Twat!
Camera on Janice: Greasy.
Camera on her son: Sans grease.
Camera on Janice: Greasier.
Camera on model: Sans grease.
Back to Janice: Greeeeeeeeeeeeasiest.
Barbra Streisand requests the gauzy lens too, I hear. She's not high maintenance either, I hear.
Ahem.
Creepy But Nobody Said Life Wasn't
Rough.
There's no casual association with that stuff, is there? There's no, "What do I do for fun? Well, I knit, I jog, I dabble in heroin from time to time..."
It gives one pause.
Soon after I got that news, I spoke with a close friend I haven't spoken to in awhile who asked, "So, tell me what's new? What's good? What's goin on? Tell me something good about you?"
"Well, nothing really, I guess, " I said.
"Come on, what's new? What's good?"
"Well, I'm not dead yet," I replied.
"That's the stupidest thing I ever heard!" he shouted.

Yet...
The phone simply doesn't ring. Which is what I wanted, I believe, but still. It could mean that nobody really thinks to call or thinks of me at all, which is why the superintendent will find me dead and bloated in my apartment half-chewed by the cat who will also be dead and bloated by the time we're found.
So...
It could be that I was sitting with all the popular people on the plane the other night, and as soon as it landed, their phones were blowin' up, left and right:
Ring Ring, "Hello? Oh, HI! We just landed. I said we just landed. Mike and I are on the plane. We're still on the plane. Are you picking us up? Cool. We'll see you at baggage claim. I said we'll see you at baggage claim! Bye. I said BYE!"
Ring Ring, "Hello? Oh, HI! We just landed. I said we just landed..."
Ring Ring, "Hello? Oh, HI! We just landed..."
It was like a round. Or a really annoying echo.
And I didn't have anyone to call because I was taking the bus, so...I suppose I could have called the bus company to be like, "Hey, bus still coming to pick me up? I said, bus still coming to JFK to pick me up?"
But of course, I didn't do that, because that's stupid, and I don't think that just because someone is on their cellphone they are more popular or better than I am. What, you think you're better than me? (insert "I" for "me")
Or are they?
But it was seriously obnoxious. I was literally the only person who was not on the phone at the time of plane landing. You see, Doodlecat doesn't have a cellphone. I told her flat out: "No job, no cellphone. That's how it goes."
Everyone flicks off their seatbelts and stands up immediately to get off the plane, as if they can get anywhere before the thing has even stopped at the gate. I sit. I realize we're not going anywhere. And then the twat a few rows behind me who thinks that because she jumped up in the row standing next to my seat she'll be able to cut me in line is always disappointed to realize that's not how it works. I don't let her pass. I get up out of my seat and slowly get my bag down from the overhead. Maybe sort of hit her with it as I bring it down. She can wait.
Then my cellphone starts buzzing.
I get excited.
I look popular.
I need to check who it is.
Maybe it's my sister.
Maybe it's my ex-boyfriend.
Maybe it's the guy I have a crush on.

Disturbing eBay Listing

The Stork and Me
would like to introduce
Chloe
Weight: 5lbs. 8oz.
Height: 22 in.
Chloe is a beautiful little girl wanting a new home. She loves to be held and loved. Chloe started out as a Secrist Corey mold and after many hours of love and work she has been transformed into this wonderful little baby. I am completely satisfied with her. I have taken her out into the public and have been asked by a Neo Natal nurse if she was real. And also another nurse asked me how old she is. She does look so much like a real baby. This is what I strive for. I put alot of time and care into my babies and the outcome is wonderful.
Chloe has green Real Brand eyes and soft light brown angora mohair carefully micro rooted into her head. I sealed it twice so you can comb it as you would like. She has baby fine hair. And it looks very real.
I painted her with Genesis paints and blushed all of those tiny rolls and creases to add to the realness of her. I take alot of time in doing this and I don't quit until I am completely satisfied with the outcome.
She has 3/4 limbs. This makes her so easy to dress. By the way, she wears newborn or 0-3 months clothes. She has been weighted with the finest glass beads in her limbs and then they were sealed and a bag of poly pellets in her little body, then some of the best poly fill to make her as soft and cuddly as she can be. Her head is weighted, so you will need to support her head, just like holding a real baby.
She has a baby manicure. I go lightly on this, so it looks more natural.
Chloe is a dream. She is so sweet. This mold looks as if she is looking at you all the time. When you hold her in yours arms, you will want to talk to her because from the look on her face, she hears everything you are saying.
At this time, I would like to thank everyone looking at this precious baby I have created. Thank you!! If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, please let me know. I will answer your questions as soon as possible. Chloe comes from a smoke free and pet free nursery. Chloe will bring home with her a 3-piece outfit (bibs, shirt and sweater-for those chilly days) and her little socks, matching head band and a care-instruction sheet.
The reserve for Chloe is $75.00.
*I've highlighted what I find to be most disturbing about this eBay listing, but what isn't? I'd post the for those who are interested, but too late--Chloe has been auctioned off for $75.00.
Sorry.
Nintendo

That satiated her for awhile.
She claims this never happened and that she didn't buy it. But she did. For a little bit, anyway.

Paisley Duffle Bags

Attention All You Twats With Your Paisley Duffle Bags:
Yes, you, lugging your "Country Provencal Green" number to the office, so that you can leave early and go out to your Hamptons share, I'm talking to you: Your bag is lame.
5 Reasons Why Your Paisley Duffle Bag Is Lame
- You aren't fooling anyone into thinking you're part of the "Yachting Set" because you have a "Country Provencal Green" Paisley duffle bag. Rich people don't carry their own bags.
- The bag does not have an adequately ergonomic shoulder strap or wheels for the weight it is carrying. It is unwieldy, dumpy, heavy, and designed for someone with a car which drives you and your bag everywhere. Lugging it, you look like a jackass.
- The bag is not waterproof, making it imperfect for beach travel or sitting on a subway platform. There is water. There is pee.
- The dude in your life will either refuse to carry it because it's gay, or carry it and resent you the whole time he is carrying it. He will not tell you why he's in a bad mood. He'll get back at you by staring and fantasizing about other broads in line behind the velvet ropes all weekend despite your fierce, last minute manicure and spray tan.
- The bag peaked in style about 10 years ago, so I've clue why you're still dragging it around other than perhaps you have not read 1-4.
I pack lightly. A basic backpack's all I need. Pockets everywhere for everything? Yes. Paisley? No. Stylish? No. But I work it, yo. Can I beat your dumpy ass through the station to make the train? Yes. Why? Because I do not summer anywhere requiring flatirons.
Slaves to fashion, bitches, you're slaves to fashion. Just give up already. I did. Trust me: it doesn't matter.
Flatiron? Up your ass you need to shove it. So far.

Cocaine Cartwheels
I was telling my sis and her boyfriend the story about how in the 6th Grade Talent Show, these two girls who were sort of like "losers" but let's use the term "outcasts" to be more polite, did a skit where they put Eric Clapton's "Cocaine" on the tape player and their "dance routine" consisted of them being on opposite ends of the "stage" (half the cafetorium, the audience sat "Indian-style" on the other half of the cafetorium) and proceeded to each do a cartwheel at the same time to the other side of the stage. For the whole song, basically, that was their skit. One of them had long dark black hair and the other had long dark red hair. It was surreal and totally weird.
If you wanna hang out youve got to take her out; cocaine. (CARTWHEEL)
If you wanna get down, down on the ground; cocaine. (CARTWHEEL)
She dont lie, she dont lie, she dont lie; cocaine. (CARTWHEEL)
If you got bad news, you wanna kick them blues; cocaine. (CARTWHEEL)
When your day is done and you wanna run; cocaine. (CARTWHEEL)
She dont lie, she dont lie, she dont lie; cocaine. (CARTWHEEL)
etc...
What is funny about it:
WHAT ISN'T FUNNY, PEOPLE?!?!
I mean, how bad was your day at school --in 6th grade-- that you had to run home and do some lines? Ok, it wasn't really funny at the time because the song was kind of "old" for sixth graders but what is funny now is that most of us (if not all of us) didn't know what cocaine was back then. And of course, also it's funny because it's kind of a lame routine and an obscure skit for a talent show. They weren't even smiling, they were very serious, I can recall. And I have to say, I'm pretty fuckin' psyched I remember it. It must have really freaked me out somehow. I'll do it live onstage sometime.
So yeah, it was lame, but then again, one fellow played a drum routine on his drum practice pad, and that was totally lame. I remember thinking, "WTF? When the hell is this over with? I can't even hear the fucker. What, he's so bad at drums he's not even allowed to use real drums yet? Fag."
So, anyhoodle, I named the story "Cocaine Cartwheels" and we three thought it would make a fine name for a band.
And then I did some cartwheels (the only thing I "mastered" in gymnastics):

Notice my fine form here as I begin the cartwheel people. Do you see the outline of my chiseled calf muscle? You better, or I'll cartwheel you in the friggin' face.
Shit. And to think I thought my toes were pointed the whole time. Demerit. Ah, well.
What can I say other than lame, sheepish, uncoordinated dismount?

Ask the Audience
"What should I be when I grow up*?"
*And please don't say veterinarian, because the program is wicked hard and lasts forever, plus you have to see terrible things and put animals to sleep sometimes, and I don't think I handle that crap well because I'm a bleeding heart, completely weak, and a total a-hole. But of course, if you really truly still think I should be a vet, then do say it, and I'll add it to my list of unmet goals. Thanks.

I just kissed Doodlecat on the tummy and I came quite close to having a lot in common with Sammy Davis, Jr. and I'm neither black nor Jewish nor Puerto Rican, so...I don't recommend it.

Stole My Idea
Well, it happened today.
He must read my blog.
Today I Made a Mistake
I looked.
OH THE HORROR!
WHY DID I LOOK?
I COULDN'T NOT LOOK!
AND SO I LOOKED!!
I got a glimpse of her big toe. Her toenail was the size and shape and texture of a mussel shell, nice and long, pokin' the tip of those pantyhose. AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHH!
(mmmrrrrrrrbbbbbrrrrssgggggghhh i just got a chill)

And I thought to myself, when and if I grow that old, I'm going to pay someone to come over to my house and clip my toenails for me. With hedge clippers. Just like Grandma.
Go Fly a Kite
Take Off, Hoser, Eh?
No offense to my people of the Great White North, but the Mackenzie Brothers:"Hi. I'm Bob McKenzie and this is my brother, Doug." (Dave Thomas and Rick Moranis)
is like my all time most favoritest ever Canadian export second to RUSH. First they were a skit on SCTV, then they produced an album and then a movie, Strange Brew, in the early eighties. Beavis and Butthead and Waynes World: total rip-offs of Mackenzie Brothers. My best friend's Dad had the album when we were kids, and we listened to it all the time. Even though we really didn't know what a Molson was, we still found it funny.
Geddy Lee (see below), of my all time most favoritest ever Canadian band (see above)

sings with them on their song Take Off (to the Great White North) and it is fuckin' hilarious.
That is if you like dumb Canadian dudes who cut off each other's sentences, act silly, drink beer and burp and all. Oh, and RUSH. Which I do. And I've got impeccable taste, thank you very much, hosers!
My Favorite Ice Cream

Is Friendly's Butter Crunch. There is no Friendly's in Manhattan, because it's a Mass-based joint, but we stopped at one after dinner in New Hampshire (Taco Bell), on our way up to Vermont.
I've got one word for you.
FAT.
The funny thing was, I got a small in a ghetto cone/wafer cone (not a huge fan of sugar cones) and it wasn't a very small small. So, I asked for a cup and a spoon just in case I had to plonk it in there. It was a hot night, and I was afraid it'd melt before I ate it all.
Turns out that wasn't a problem, and therefore I saw no use for the cup and spoon. So I tapped on the take out window and the girl pulled it up, and I said, "Hi, I didn't use this cup or spoon. Could you take it back?" and she goes, "Oh, no, don't worry about it, we have plenty."
Yes, kid, I realize you have shitloads of inventory, that's not the point. I had a tough time throwing out a styrofoam cup and plastic spoon I didn't use, so my sister's boyfriend suggested we take it up to the house with us and use it a few times so I didn't feel so bad.
When we got there and popped open a bottle of champagne, I used it as my glass. The next day I ate some apple sauce in it.
Ok, so I'm acting like an old person. Fuck off. I'm saving your environment one cup and spoon at at time. I can't explain the applesauce. I just likes what I likes.

I'm Back From the Great Green North, Hosers!
I did not blog from Vermont; I kept my visit clean livin'(no t.v. and no computer)and made sure to take advantage of the locale in every other way. I'll blog about it later.
Now, I'm back in MA and want to enjoy the last remaining hours I have with a clean cool breeze off the ocean before I fly back to the blazing heat and humidity of NYC and find a dead cat in my apartment. I don't know that she's dead, but hey, it could happen. Plus, this morning I woke up to a bad dream where someone had given me a pet rabbit in Vermont and I kept it down by the creek in a hutch and forgot about it until somebody said "Hey, your rabbit's dead." Sort of like Trainspotting but without the blue baby. Rough.
So...
Welcome back, me.
