Ice Skating in Central Park

I had a Charlie Brown day of ice skating yesterday in Central Park, and it was grand. I'd say I was almost as good as Snoopy, having not skated in about two years. And just when you thought Trump couldn't have his name on enough crap, he must have trumped old Wollman in the dough department, as now the former Wollman Rink is now the Trump Wollman Skating Rink. Sorry, TRUMP, rather. All caps. "TRUMP" is even scrawled along the bottom of the rental skates.

The weather was chilly and perfect for skating. If you can, I recommend going on a weekday, off hour, if possible. I went at 2:00, before all the kids' clinics begin (which really jam the place with nannies and hockey equipment). If you have a real ol' regular job and can't get out for lunch, you may need to get fired to fit it into your schedule, and that may make it somewhat difficult to afford the activity, but it was reasonable enough. Way cheaper than bowling, if you can believe that noise. Two people can skate for 29 bucks including the cost of renting figure or hockey skates (which I must point out, are as dull as Keanu Reeves, so if you can, bring your own pair), and to offset the $4 rental fee for a locker, bring your own padlock.
