Defending Dan Rather

CBS Chief Les Moonves has called Dan Rather "sexist" for his comments about CBS News, hosted by America's perky and shameless tightwad Katie Couric:

"The mistake was to try to bring the 'Today' show ethos to the evening news and to dumb it down, tart it up in hopes of attracting a younger audience," Rather said.

In Dan Rather's defense, what he meant to say, was "Dumb it down and fart it up." Couric is farting up a storm, and her ratings are in the toilet. Beano, Couric. Beano.

the problem is the society which allows women to host tv shows only when those shows are provide fluffy news. people were happy to watch katie couric on a dumb tv show but real news is for men. that said, i don't like katie. but if a woman who really cared about what is going on in the world and wanted to present it to intelligent people was hostly the nightly news, she still probably wouldnt get good ratings. americans trust men more. still.

How much work has Katie had done anyhow?

Look at ABC. Poor Elizabeth Vargas got bumped to Nightline after Woodruff got himself shot. Cuz a woman can't host the news ALONE! (You know, like Bob's Mom, Judy?)

p.s. - "fucun" is my word verification for this comment. F u Connie Chung, perhaps? Or is the second "u" an upside down n? F u CNN for losing Greta and making her retarded.

p.p.s. - GWEN IFILL FOREVER!

Wasn't that Connie Chung on top of a grand piano proving that she could kill small furry mammals with her voice when Maury Povich's show got canceled a while back?

Should she really be anchoring the news after that?

We would all have to take care to remove our hamsters from the room, just in case she broke into "song."

admittedly i did have a little more respect for connie in the 70s when she was a CBS anchor before she married maury, but love is blind they say.
