Kick Ass Broad of the Week: Ann Calvello

"Ann Calvello--original Roller Derby Queen-- known for intimidating rivals and even teammates while skating well into her 60s. Calvello was best known as the star skater for the San Francisco Bay Bombers in a sport that reached its popular heights in the ’70s. She was the subject of a film, Demon of the Derby (2001). She died of liver cancer in San Bruno, California on March 14, 2006."
