There's no freakin' way he understood a word anyone was saying in this show, that's for sure.
In the interest of full disclosure I feel I must tell you that I come from a mixed marriage:
My mother is PBS and Dad is TBS.
We're lucky he found anything to watch on PBS and here comes Benny Hill to the rescue and here's Dad, watchin' ass-grabbin' homophobic old perv Benny Hill run around in high speed to funny music while Mom cooked dinner, and then there's Mom watchin' maids run upstairs and downstairs to classical music with a "blah blah blah" on Masterpiece Theater after Dad went to bed.
No wonder my sister and I are so fucked up.

Dear Aunt Anne,
My first television memory was watching my Grandpa watch Benny Hill while grandma overcooked everything. I never understood what was so funny. He loved Wonderwoman too....
i absolutely LOVED The Benny Hill Show. If I had a DVD player, I'd by a few DVD's. And if my computer wasn't a 4-year old aging dinosaur with dial-up internet and no speakers, I'd watch it on youtube.
... hated Wonderwoman, though. Does that redeem me a little?? At all???????????
if you hated wonderwoman it simply means you hate boobies.

Well, I didn't mind them on Benny Hill. Half of his show was boobies. No, it was just the show Wonder Woman I didn't like.
Really.
I thought that T&A was the only reason anyone watched Benny Hill.
Some of us also watched Benny Hill for that wonderfully amusing music.
I remember his song: "I have got a hose pipe". If this wasn't a "family blog" I'd repeat it...
My first star crush was Linda Carter, aka, Wonder Woman. And to quote Benny Hill - "Be gent'al wiff me..."
