Boston's Brad Delp Dead at 55

This sucks. What's with the spate of talented and successful artists succumbing to their tortured souls and off-ing themselves? First comedian Richard Jeni, now Brad Delp of the band Boston? I'm sad because

  1. I grew up in Boston and Boston was rumored to have rented in a house in my town by the old Junior High. Pointing to the house and dropping the lore made the vertical hill trek from the bus stop at the shore to school at the top of the hill worthwhile. Yes, I'm 80.
  2. I'm wistful for my days of youth with the requisite and ubiquitous Boston playing in the background, and this album cover is seared into my ancient memory. Old folks in the hosue hold up those lighters and wave 'em!
  3. went to high school wih a kid who committed suicide in his garage that way, and it appeared as if he had changed his mind last minute because when he was found, the door to his Subaru was ajar. That car had a for sale sign on it at the local Mobil Station for forever and it always gave me chills when we drove by it.
  4. Brad Delp made the choice to leave this earth before his time. Or perhaps it was his time?
RIP, Brad Delp. You were more than a feeling.

Here's best audio of Boston I could find on YouTube. Forgive me if you find the tribute cheesy. That's ovbiously your problem. It's certainly not my problem that you're too young to understand. One day, kid. One day. Now go play on your internets and watch this picture. You'll learn somethin':
