Look Up! Perseus is Here!

Stars, stars, stars!!!

I don't know much about stars, other than that they're supposed to be exploded planets or some shit which burned out years ago, and we're still seeing their fire or whatnot due to the speed of light and whatevs, but the view of the sky from the boat in the middle of Cuba Lake was insane!!! It was like Milky Way times a Million with shooting stars all over the place! And I just talked to my sister and she said this week is season for more of the same due to some fancy astronomy meteor crap, so if you're out of the city this weekend, make sure to look up!

Look up!

Stars were never planets.

The meteor showers this month is the Perseids, which will peak on August 12.

It happens every year this time because the Earth is passing through a debris field from the Comet Swift-Tuttle, which passed this route in 1862. I look forward to it every year.

For more information on comets, meteor showers, Cuba Lake, and people mistaken stars for planets, take a voyage down to your local library... it's all in books!
