Tell Bush To Back Off Sesame Street

I suppose it should come as no surprise that a man who could have benefitted from a little more PBS in his youth is now trying to cut funds dedicated to public broadcasting. Again.

If you watched shows like Sesame Street or Electric Company as kids, have kids yourself, or would like to live in a world where the children of today don't grow up to be the idiots and presidents of tomorrow, please sign the petition to save Bert, Ernie, Grover, Big Bird, Elmo, you know, the whole freakin' gang.

Without Sesame Street I never would have learned to speak and spell so well, let alone how to say "open" and "close"* in Spanish for cryin' out loud. So what if I learned that Spanish ten years ago? Learnin' is learnin' is learnin'.

*abierto. cerrado.
