My Good Deed This Morning
This morning on my walk to work, I saved a pretty moth from Squashtown. It was sitting on the subway grating, large and brown with a wild pattern and in the full-on danger zone of being stepped on by a clodhopper or two. When I brushed it with the side of my flip flop, it fluttered open and had a gorgeous orange and red color on the inside of the wingspan, but it must have been injured because it didn't fly away. The second time I tried to move him, he caught a ride on the side of my foot and I placed him on the base of the orange cone that was sitting there. Safe.
Then I pushed an old lady in front of the westbound 42nd Street bus.
