Ou est le Middle Class?

Gonzo. The middle class is GONZO. Thanks, GW Bush. Anyway, TGIF, kids, TGIF. Even though everyday is Sunday around here at Two Can Anne since I was so ruthlessly ripped from the womb of employment, we're still working for the weekend. Aren't we, Doodle? Doodle doesn't mind if I share her cat food in these lean times. She does have a sweet side.

I made another eBay sale yesterday! My 400 leather jacket sold to someone in Long Island City for a 90% discount. Not bad. Buy high, sell low. The secret to success.

In other news, my electricity and cable have not been shut off yet. However, Clustrmaps (that beautiful measled map in the sidebar) did email me to tell me that they're going to have to remove my map OR start charging me.

Why?

"We have noticed that the number of visits per day logged on your site
www.annealtman.blogspot.com by our counter recently was 25289,
which exceeds the normal daily allowed limit of 2500.
ClustrMaps is has been designed to handle an enormous number of users
for FREE, but this only works for users typically processing less than
the normal daily limit of 2500 on their websites.

Since your usage of the service appears to be both genuine and
interesting (i.e. you are not artificially generating massive hit-counts), we
are wondering if there is a way we could interest you in upgrading to
the ClustrMaps+ service. We could allow you a more realistic limit of
10,000 visitors daily..."

WHAT?

Fantastic!

Not for nothing, but I don't think anyone would mind if you put up a few ads on Two Can Anne. You could buy back your leather coat!

I appologize if the notion of selling out that way offends any "purist" blogger sensibilities you might have. But if you're clocking over 2 thousand, whatever it is, hits you've earned a pay day.

i promise not to put up any ads containing stuffed bald vaginas.

that's the third time i've said it. still terrible.

I don't understand... what they're offering still won't accommodate the number of hits they said your site generated... (limit of 10,000 for hits exceeding 25,000)? Who's doing the math over at Clustrmaps? Maybe they should tune into that mathematician's show...

berry you're RIGHT i smell a bad math conspiracy

Ouch! A 90% discount on a $400 "buttery soft" (prior Sept post) leather jacket ... what could possibly make you feel better about that?!

Perhaps depreciation .... how old was the jacket. Was it still worth $400? Maybe the lack of sentimental value can "sugarcoat" the bad taste left in your mouth - or is that the cat food?

We are terribly sorry about this anomaly - we published a big apology on our newsblog at http://clustrmaps.wordpress.com and have been emailing/autoreplying apologies and offering refunds as appropriate. We know how upsetting a false count (and, worse, a false email) can be! What happened was that the "all time total" was erroneously mapped onto the "yesterday 1-day total" during a separate database problem we encountered. Ouch. Fortunately all totals are preserved, so things should rectify shortly…

We’re on the case! Thanks for bearing with us.

I wouldn't accept their apology. Not one red dot in all of Somalia. Racist bastards.

I got that notice, too! ...and here's your blog providing the official answer!

Does Anne ever stop giving, kids? I think not.
