Zetia, a prescription medication for lowering cholesterol, has a new commercial out featuring a waitress in a greasy spoon who chats to the camera about decisions she and her doctor have made concerning her care which include Zetia, diet, and exercise. The commercial ends with her saying, "Now you can tell people a waitress gave you a tip!" as she goes off to pour more Sanka.
A waitress with health care? Let alone a prescription medication that no doubt costs her no less than $40 at the counter with her insurance? What is the name of this amazing diner which offers health care to their waitstaff? On what planet does this diner exist? And if this diner doesn't exist, what waitress is able to afford her own personal health insurance?
HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Good one, Big Pharma, good one. The only idiots who actually believe that a waitress can afford health insurance are the rich fat cats at Merck/Schering Plough and the rich the fat cats at the ad agency who created this ludicrous commercial--both of whom believe that they don't really need to tip waitstaff too well because they must make a good hourly wage.
We= Hell + Handbasket.

yea, that's pretty laughable. I've never been a waitress but I know that they don't make much money, live on their tips and don't get offered healthcare of any kind.
stupid healthcare companies. why don't they do their research before putting a commercial together?
"Now you can say you got a tip from a waitress!"
Great. Now only 32 more things to do before I can die happily.
The commercial where the doctors are walking their hospital rounds is even worse.
I like they way they say, "Other medications work in the liver ... Zetia is different ... It works in the digestive tract."
The statin medications (Lipitor, etc.) can cause serious liver damage. Do they mean that people with existing liver problems can take this drug ... and make their digestive tract pay for it instead?
The easiest way to lower your cholesterol is by not eating greasy diner food. The waitress' tip should be to eat some salad and go easy on the dressing.
